Birding in San Diego
San diego has become a mecca for birders. The county boasts over 500 recorded species of birds, and has a geography that spans from the ocean to the desert. It's no wonder why San Diego generates birders, it's easy to fall in love with the activity. On any given day of the year it is possible to find sunshine and bird activity within the county, whether you're on the coast, in the mountains of Julian, or in the deserts of the Anza Borrego State Park.
In Julian, you can find many beautiful birds flaunting by walking right outside of town to the cemetery. A drive out to Lake Cuyamaca is sure to provide some excitement for avid and casual birders alike, with many shore birds, Western bluebirds, and even an occasional bald eagle to be seen there! Of course you're always welcome to linger at the feeders we have outside our store as well!
